The historic downtown area and some of the older McGregor Boulevard side streets are narrower with on-street parking and mature banyan trees, which can require careful routing or a short staging stop nearby. Newer subdivisions in south and east Fort Myers are generally straightforward, though gated communities there follow the same advance-notice pattern as anywhere else in the region.
