Shipping a car to Cape Coral
What an inbound Cape Coral shipment looks like
An inbound Cape Coral shipment starts wherever the vehicle sits today — a Minneapolis driveway, a Chicago high-rise, a dealer lot in Ohio — and ends at a Cape Coral address off Del Prado Boulevard, Santa Barbara Boulevard, Pine Island Road, Veterans Parkway or one of the hundreds of canal streets between them. Transit runs two to four days from Ohio, three to five from New York and Illinois, and four to six from Minnesota or Wisconsin.
The carrier calls ahead before arriving in Cape Coral. Because a loaded semi carrier is roughly 75–80 feet long, we confirm the delivery point before dispatch rather than discovering a problem when the truck is already on Pine Island Road. Most Cape Coral addresses work at the door; the ones that do not are gated entries, narrow canal cul-de-sacs and streets with low tree canopies.
At delivery you inspect the vehicle against the pickup photos on the bill of lading, sign it, and the shipment is closed. Nothing about that process changes in peak snowbird season except how far ahead you should book.

What an outbound Cape Coral shipment looks like
Outbound Cape Coral shipments are easier to load than to schedule. The loading itself is simple — Cape Coral's arterial grid handles full-size carriers and I-75 is twenty minutes away at Colonial Boulevard or Luckett Road. The scheduling is the part that needs lead time, because every seasonal resident wants to leave the same three weeks in April.
We stage most outbound loads either at the residence or at a nearby wide arterial when the street cannot take a truck. Vehicles leaving gated communities are usually met just outside the gate at a pre-agreed spot, which is faster than negotiating a guardhouse and an interior loop with an 80-foot trailer.
Outbound enclosed capacity is the single tightest thing on this website in March and April. If your vehicle is a collector car, an exotic, or simply something you do not want touched by road spray, book that first and set your travel dates around it.
Snowbird season
Cape Coral snowbird car shipping
Cape Coral's population swells every winter, and a large share of those vehicles arrive on a truck rather than driving down. Southbound demand builds from the first week of October, peaks through November and early December, then eases in January. Northbound demand builds in March, peaks in April, and finishes in late May.
Practical rule: book three to six weeks before the week you want, in either peak. Inside two weeks of a peak date you are competing for the last slots on trucks that are already full, and the price reflects that. January and February are the cheapest weeks of the year to move a vehicle in either direction.
Transport levels
Open, enclosed and white-glove into Cape Coral
Open auto transport
The standard choice and roughly three-quarters of Cape Coral volume. Vehicles ride on a multi-car semi carrier, exposed to weather the same way they would be driving. Best availability, lowest cost, shortest pickup windows. Open carriers we dispatch carry $250,000 cargo coverage on open carriers.
Enclosed auto transport
A hard-sided trailer, no road spray, no salt, no stone chips. The right call for exotics, low clearance, fresh paint, and any vehicle coming out of a salted northern winter. Enclosed carriers carry up to $2,000,000 cargo coverage on enclosed carriers.
Premium white-glove
Lift-gate loading, soft ties, single-vehicle or two-vehicle trailers and direct driver contact. Used most often for concours-level classics and high-value exotics arriving at Cape Harbour and Tarpon Point addresses.
Luxury, exotic and classic
High-value vehicles arriving in Cape Coral
Cape Coral's waterfront neighborhoods hold a lot of low-clearance and collector metal, and it moves on different equipment than a daily driver. Low-clearance cars need a lift gate or extended ramps, not a standard ramp angle. Non-running classics need a winch and a driver who has loaded one before. Convertibles and soft tops ride enclosed for obvious reasons.
For those shipments we confirm the equipment type in writing before dispatch — lift gate, tie-down method, single-level position — because "enclosed" alone does not describe what a 4-inch-clearance car actually needs.
Local access
Cape Coral carrier accessibility, street by street
Cape Coral is about 120 square miles with roughly 400 miles of canals, and its street grid was platted long before 80-foot car carriers existed. Most of it works fine. Where it does not, the fix is a nearby safe meeting location — never an attempt to force a truck down a street that cannot take it.
Cape Harbour
A waterfront village at the south end of Chiquita Boulevard with mid-rise condos, a marina and narrow interior drives lined with mature landscaping. The approach on Chiquita is fine for a full-size carrier; the interior loop and parking decks are not — deck clearances and turning radii both fail an 80-foot rig.
Meeting the carrier: Carriers stage on Chiquita Boulevard South or in the open surface parking near the marina entrance, then walk the vehicle in or out. Expect the driver to ask for a resident contact at the gate for condo buildings.
Tarpon Point
High-rise waterfront towers off Cape Coral Parkway West with a gated entry, a marina village and covered parking. Cape Coral Parkway handles carriers easily; the tower garages and the gated interior lanes do not.
Meeting the carrier: Most Tarpon Point shipments are met just outside the gate on Tarpon Point Drive or in the marina village surface lot. High-value cars going enclosed are commonly loaded here rather than at the building.
Burnt Store (Burnt Store Road corridor)
The far northwest of the Cape, running up Burnt Store Road toward Charlotte County. Long straight arterials and newer wide streets make this some of the easiest access in the city, though it is a 25–35 minute deadhead from I-75.
Meeting the carrier: Door-to-door works on most Burnt Store streets. Where a new-construction street is still unpaved or blocked by equipment, carriers stage at the Burnt Store Road and Van Buren Parkway area.
Cape Royal
A gated golf community off Burnt Store Road on the north side, with a guardhouse, interior golf-course lanes, cart crossings and low-hanging canopy on several streets. Carriers can rarely make the interior loop.
Meeting the carrier: Standard practice is a meet at the Cape Royal entrance on Burnt Store Road. The guardhouse will need advance notice and the driver's name — we pass that along before dispatch.
Entrada
A gated community off Diplomat Parkway East in the northeast Cape. The entry and main boulevard are wide and modern; interior cul-de-sacs and alley-loaded driveways are tight for a multi-car trailer.
Meeting the carrier: Carriers typically load and unload just inside or just outside the Entrada gate on Diplomat Parkway, or on Del Prado Boulevard North a few minutes away.
Sandoval
A large gated community off Veterans Parkway with a guardhouse, roundabouts and interior streets that loop rather than run straight. Veterans Parkway access is excellent; the interior roundabouts are the constraint.
Meeting the carrier: Sandoval shipments are usually met at the Surfside Boulevard / Veterans Parkway gate area, or on the wide Veterans Parkway shoulder nearby.
Pelican
An established southwest Cape neighborhood of canal-front homes on a dense grid off Pelican Boulevard. Mature trees and canal-end cul-de-sacs mean canopy clearance and turnaround space vary street by street.
Meeting the carrier: Pelican Boulevard itself works for a carrier. Interior canal cul-de-sacs are usually handled by meeting on Pelican Boulevard or at the Cape Coral Parkway West intersection.
Surfside
The Surfside Boulevard corridor in the southwest Cape — newer homes, wide arterial, straightforward shoulder access, and one of the simplest parts of the city for a full-size truck.
Meeting the carrier: Door-to-door works for most Surfside addresses. When a street is too short to turn around, carriers stage on Surfside Boulevard between Cape Coral Parkway and Veterans Parkway.
Pine Island Road (SR-78)
The main east–west artery across the north Cape, connecting US-41 in North Fort Myers to Matlacha and Pine Island. Multiple lanes, wide turns, commercial plazas — the natural staging corridor for the whole north side.
Meeting the carrier: Large commercial plazas along Pine Island Road are the most-used meeting locations in the city for carriers that cannot reach a residential street.
Del Prado Boulevard
The primary north–south spine of the Cape, running from Cape Coral Parkway up to the Caloosahatchee Bridge and US-41. Fully carrier-capable end to end and the usual route for trucks avoiding the bridge tolls.
Meeting the carrier: Del Prado commercial plazas at Hancock Bridge Parkway, Viscaya Parkway and Country Club Boulevard are common staging points for central and east Cape deliveries.
Veterans Parkway (Midpoint corridor)
A wide divided east–west parkway running from Chiquita Boulevard to the Midpoint Memorial Bridge, and the fastest way across the Cape for a loaded carrier. Excellent access along its full length.
Meeting the carrier: Veterans Parkway shoulders and the plazas at Santa Barbara Boulevard and Skyline Boulevard are reliable meeting locations for central Cape pickups.
Santa Barbara Boulevard
A major north–south arterial through the middle of the Cape, intersecting Veterans Parkway, Cape Coral Parkway and Pine Island Road. Wide and carrier-friendly, with plenty of commercial frontage.
Meeting the carrier: The Santa Barbara and Veterans intersection area is one of the most convenient citywide meeting points, roughly ten minutes from most Cape addresses.
Cape Coral Parkway
The south Cape main street, leading to the Cape Coral Bridge and the downtown South Cape district. Carrier-capable, but the downtown blocks have on-street parking, pedestrian traffic and delivery congestion.
Meeting the carrier: For South Cape addresses, carriers prefer the wider Cape Coral Parkway West stretch or a nearby plaza rather than stopping in the downtown entertainment blocks.
Getting in and out
Bridges, I-75 and the RSW corridor
Cape Coral sits on a peninsula, so every carrier crosses water to reach it. The Cape Coral Bridge and the Midpoint Memorial Bridge carry tolls and connect the Cape to Fort Myers; the Caloosahatchee Bridge on US-41 handles the north end via North Fort Myers. Drivers heading to or from the north often prefer the Del Prado Boulevard and US-41 approach because it avoids the toll plazas entirely.
All long-haul traffic funnels to I-75 at either Colonial Boulevard (exit 136), Daniels Parkway (exit 131) or Luckett Road (exit 139). Daniels is also the RSW airport corridor, which matters if you are flying in the same week your vehicle arrives — a delivery timed to your landing usually works better staged near Daniels than at a home you have not reached yet.
Pine Island Road is the main east–west artery on the north side of the Cape and the practical staging corridor for carriers working Burnt Store, Cape Royal and the northwest neighborhoods.
Procedure
Pickup and delivery, step by step
- You book with a real coordinator and receive a written quote for your specific lane, not a mileage-table estimate.
- We verify the assigned carrier's federal operating authority, active cargo insurance and safety record before dispatch.
- The driver calls to confirm the Cape Coral pickup or delivery point — including a nearby meeting spot when the street cannot take a full-size carrier.
- At pickup, the driver photographs the vehicle from every angle and you both sign the bill of lading.
- You get the driver's direct number and status updates while the vehicle is in transit.
- At delivery you inspect against the pickup photos, sign the bill of lading, and the shipment closes.
Pricing and insurance
What you pay for and what you are covered for
How Cape Coral pricing works
Distance sets the floor. After that it is carrier supply on your dates, vehicle size and weight, whether it runs, open versus enclosed, and how accessible both ends are. Seasonal direction is the biggest single swing on Cape Coral lanes: southbound in November and northbound in April both cost more than the same lane in January.
We hand-quote every shipment against live carrier availability. A quote that is dramatically below the market is not a deal — it is a listing that no carrier will accept, and it ends in a "the price went up" call a week later.
Cape Coral cost breakdownInsurance and carrier verification
Cargo insurance is carried by the authorized motor carrier assigned to your shipment, not by Cape Coral Auto Transport or Enterprise Auto Transport. Limits vary by carrier and equipment — open carriers we dispatch commonly carry $250,000 in cargo coverage and enclosed carriers up to $2,000,000. Enterprise Auto Transport verifies the assigned carrier's active cargo and liability insurance before dispatch, and the certificate is available on request.
On Cape Coral lanes, open carriers we dispatch commonly carry $250,000 cargo coverage on open carriers and enclosed carriers up to $2,000,000 cargo coverage on enclosed carriers. The certificate for your assigned carrier is available before pickup on request. Enterprise Auto Transport separately carries a $75,000 FMCSA surety bond as the broker of record.
Before dispatch we check the carrier's USDOT and MC authority status, insurance expiration dates and safety record. That screening is the actual work a broker does, and it is the reason to use one.
