Buying & Selling
Auction and private-sale purchases have their own rules — release authorization, gate fees, storage clocks and inspection you will not be present for.
Get a no-obligation quote from Enterprise Auto Transport. Owner-operated, U.S.-based, and licensed with the FMCSA.
Verify before you book
You do not have to take any company's word for it. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration keeps free public records on every licensed broker and carrier in the country. Here is exactly what to ask for and where to verify it:
Every legitimate broker and carrier must provide both on request. Our numbers: USDOT #2273104 and MC #774106. If a company hesitates or deflects, stop.
Go to safer.fmcsa.dot.gov and use the Company Snapshot search. Enter the MC or USDOT number and confirm the legal name, operating status and “Authorized” broker or carrier authority match what you were told.
In the FMCSA Licensing & Insurance portal (li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov), verify the broker's BMC-84 bond or BMC-85 trust fund is active. No active bond means no legal authority to broker your shipment.
Before your car is loaded, ask for a certificate of insurance directly from the assigned carrier — cargo and liability. Match the carrier's name and DOT number on the certificate to the truck that arrives.
When you check our records you'll find Enterprise Auto Transport, USDOT #2273104, MC #774106 — an owner-operated, federally licensed and bonded broker with offices in Naples, Florida and Minnesota.
A carrier cannot pick up a car that nobody is authorized to hand over. Before you book, confirm the seller, dealership or auction house has the title cleared, the release paperwork issued and a named contact who will be on site during business hours.
Auctions in particular require the buyer number, a gate pass and sometimes payment confirmation before a driver is allowed onto the lot. Send us those details when you book and we pass them straight to dispatch.
Auction yards typically allow a few free days after sale, then bill storage daily. Those fees are charged to the buyer, not the carrier, and they can outrun the shipping cost quickly. Book transport the same day you win the vehicle rather than after the title arrives.
You will not be present at pickup, so the seller or auction staff signs the Bill of Lading on your behalf. Ask them to photograph the vehicle before loading and send the images to you along with a copy of the signed BOL. Without that pre-load record, distinguishing transport damage from pre-existing condition at delivery is nearly impossible.
At delivery, inspect against those photos, not against the listing pictures. Listing photos are taken to sell a car.
If you are moving inventory rather than a single purchase, multi-unit loads price better and dispatch faster than one-off bookings. Consistent lanes let us keep the same carriers on your account, which is worth more over a year than shaving twenty dollars off any single move.
